What We Treat

Services & specialist techniques

From acute sports injuries to long-term neurological conditions — Shalini draws on 16 years of global experience and a toolkit of eight specialist techniques to build a program that's right for you.

01 🦴
Musculoskeletal & Joint Pain
Musculoskeletal conditions are among the most common reasons people see a physiotherapist. Shalini takes a thorough assessment approach — understanding not just where the pain is, but why it's there and what's maintaining it. Treatment typically combines manual therapy, targeted exercise, and education so you understand what's happening in your body.

Post-Surgery Rehabilitation
Good post-surgical rehabilitation can make the difference between a full recovery and persistent problems. Shalini works closely with your surgeon's protocol to design a structured program — beginning with early-stage mobility and pain management, progressing through strengthening, and culminating in a return to full function.

Chronic Pain Management
Chronic pain is complex — it involves more than just tissue damage, and treatment that only focuses on the physical often falls short. Shalini uses a biopsychosocial approach that combines hands-on techniques, graded exercise, pain science education, and practical self-management strategies to genuinely reduce pain's impact on your daily life.
Fibromyalgia Chronic Back Pain Persistent Neck Pain Central Sensitisation Complex Regional Pain

Neurological Conditions
Neurological physiotherapy requires a different lens — working with how the nervous system learns and retrains movement patterns, rather than purely addressing musculoskeletal structures. Shalini has experience across a range of neurological conditions and adapts every program to what the person in front of her can realistically do and build on.

05
Balance & Falls Prevention
Falls are one of the leading causes of hospitalisation for older Australians — but most falls are preventable with the right program. Shalini conducts a thorough falls risk assessment before designing a targeted balance and strength program. This might include home modification advice, gait retraining, and building the strength and confidence to move independently.

Sports Physiotherapy
Whether you're a weekend runner, a club-level footballer, or a competitive athlete, sports injuries deserve proper assessment and rehabilitation. Shalini brings experience from elite-level sport — including IPL cricket and professional tennis — to assess injuries accurately and build return-to-sport programs with realistic timelines and clear milestones.

The Toolkit

Evidence-based methods, applied with precision

Shalini doesn't have a signature technique — she has a toolkit. The right combination is chosen based on your specific condition, your body's response, and your goals.

01
Dry Needling
Fine needles inserted into myofascial trigger points to reduce pain and restore muscle function.
02
Manual Therapy — Mulligan
Sustained natural apophyseal glides (SNAGs) and mobilisations with movement to restore pain-free joint motion.
03
Manual Therapy — Maitland
Oscillatory passive joint mobilisations graded by pain and resistance to improve range and reduce stiffness.
04
Clinical Pilates
Physiotherapist-led Pilates focused on deep core activation, spinal stability, and neuromuscular control.
05
Kinetic Control
Identifies and retrains specific movement faults contributing to pain — targeting the cause, not just the symptom.
06
Neurokinetic Therapy
Assesses dysfunctional motor control patterns — identifies compensations in the nervous system and resets them.
07
Visceral Manipulation
Gentle hands-on techniques to assess and improve mobility of internal organs and their connective tissue relationships.
08
Sports Physiotherapy
Sports-specific assessment, taping, injury management and return-to-sport programming at all levels.
09
Pain Management Programs
Structured, evidence-based programs for chronic pain — combining education, graded activity, and self-management.
10
Core Strengthening & Rehab
Progressive core stability programs addressing deep trunk musculature for spinal health and injury prevention.
11

Your First Appointment

A session that's actually about you

No 10-minute assessments and a printout. Shalini's initial consultations are thorough, unhurried, and built around understanding what matters to you — not just what's on the referral.

1. Intake & History A full conversation about your condition, history, lifestyle, and goals. No rushed questionnaire — this is a real discussion.
2. Physical Assessment Thorough movement, strength, and mobility testing relevant to your presentation. Observation matters as much as palpation.
3. Explanation Shalini explains exactly what she found — in plain language — so you understand what's happening and why.
4. Treatment Hands-on treatment begins in the first session wherever appropriate — no need to wait for a "plan" before getting started.
5. Home Program You leave with a clear, realistic set of things to work on — exercises, modifications, or habits — written down, not just verbal.
6. Ongoing Plan A clear recommendation on how often to return, with defined milestones so you know you're making progress.
